You might already have done this, but > it's not obvious from that page ;) No, it is not obvious, i agree. Actually I do not think that there are many high level requirements for an image IO library. I usually just start drilling down so that I see if there are any major issues regarding other libraries that would make implementation difficult. I have checked the libpng way of doing things and it is more or less just image reading and writing ... that's all it should be in my opinion. Of course the ora format is more complicated ... and (if needed) functionality can be added ...
