Hi,

thought on PSD , ( as a user ) :

1) Gimp 2.8 already open *.ora and is able to save to PSD , there is bugs
with opening overlay/softmode , and color blending mode( issues side of
Gimp blending mode tool). So, making a converter based on Gimp CLI way no
GUI is -imo- a bad idea. Or problematic layers should be flatten prior in
Mypaint to the conversion.

2) Krita (development) is shiped with a CLI tool 'calligraconverter' and
PSD support. You can do 'calligraconverter input.ora output.psd'. This is
recent and I use it now in batch mode to deliver clients ( 90% of them
still wants PSD layered files ). Before that, I was using Gimp , and open
files 1 by one to resave, and solve problematic layer blending mode as said
before.

3) PSD support in Mypaint would be welcome in my opinion ( even adding a
dependency to Krita or Gimp , as a sort of plugin ) , as I know more and
more artist working with Mypaint<>Photoshop. This -of course- would be a
feature for mainly Windows user ( able to work with other software ;
Painter, Corel PhotoPaint, ArtRage, etc...etc... PSD support is a classic
) . For the moment , most of the Mypaint user I know on Windows use
Mypaint 1.0 and save as flat *.png ( Mypaint 1.0, still have crop problems
with image borders rounded to 16px ) as this will change for next release,
and as it has full blending mode support; the need to exchange a full layer
stack project will be tempting for Windows users.

-David
( PS : my personnal choice is still use Krita<>Mypaint workflow via *.ora
on a Linux system ; and do post effect in Gimp 2.8. A final conversion to
CMYK and PSD is done at the end ... )
