It's something on my wishlist too. We could probably just extend the
length of the list of history colours without too much effort, but we
need to do it in a way that's sensitive to the other uses of the
colour history like the last-5 popup on the x key. I guess that could
just do its cycling thing on the top 5 within the longer "palette"
style view.

Easy enough to reuse the existing palette drawing code too. However
I'd like to have something that says "timeline" or "sequence" more,
just to distinguish it in appearance from the user's current palette.
Some sort of sequence of coloured chevrons ">>>>" maybe? But I'm not
sure how that would look or how the pointy bits would flow at the ends
of lines. Sketches and designs welcome!

A command to copy the history to the user's palette, and some simple
numeric setting for the length would be all the extra stuff needed, I
guess. I like keeping the floating/dockable palettes as simple as
possible because, well, we're *not* the GIMP/Sai/Photoshop :)
