The question Albert raised about group isolation got me thinking. Perhaps group isolation should be the default now. If it's complicated to explain what it is, and isn't in its most useful state by default, maybe we should invert the concept and call its toggle something else!
Some naming ideas: - "Simple Container" - "Container Only" - "Grouping Only" - "Contents Affect Backdrop" - "Mere Aggregation" :) If we do that, then toggling the setting deserves a more complicated UI. Maybe we should have its command turn off any special modes and opacities as part of the same undoable operation, and and make setting opacity or mode on such a "mere container" group impossible. This won't require any changes to the ORA format, and we'd still be able to load old files correctly. It's just an interpretation of the layer flag.
