Position: DB2 DBA Admin
Duration: 6 month project
Location: Lakewood, Ca
Rate is negotiable based on experience
Must Haves:
- 5+ yrs of experience as a DBA
- 7+ yrs. of total exp
- Strong exp performing SQL analysis
- Application Programmer background (with CICS)
- Experience with DB2 in a Z/os Mainframe environment
- Performance tuning, transaction analysis, deadlock analysis,
- Team Player - need to be able to mentor junior-level team members
Plusses:
- Exp as a Team Lead
- Experience programming COBOL on a Mainframe
Day to Day:
- Checking utilities for errors to see where the bottlenecks are, is there
a pattern of error
messages or specific online threads. Figuring out what resources are being
used
- Application Development support: maintenance, development of new
applications
- Design, configure and test new business systems data stores. Provide
recommendations including definition of physical structure, functional
capabilities, security structure, and the backup/recovery processes. Develop
and optimize stored procedures. Document system details and maintenance
process
