Hi Friends I am a web designer and very comfortable with ASP vbScript, Access ADODB. But sometime back a client wanted to redesign his site(PHP) and add some DB functionality. So I started my tryst with PHP and MySQL. After a whole month of dogged Struggle I was able to set up PHP under Windows IIS and run it. But there was no luck with MySQL. Through 7 months I had installed and uninstalled it more than 20 times but could not get it to work, formatted my machine and gave it fresh, tried everything I googled out. But it throws the same Error
**Cannot add as a Service** ..and PHP never detects MySQL otherwise. The package I tried was mySql 5.0.77 - win32 zip. that was around 50 mb. but later I found packages that is as large as 121 mb. So confused on that ground also. Which one is the right package (for Windows XP SP2)... and what is the fool-proof steps to get it run?
