Hello All,
When I try to start the server, with a fresh RPM install, this is what I
get...
[root@localhost bin]# /usr/bin/safe_mysqld &
[1] 8438
[root@localhost bin]# Starting mysqld daemon with databases from
/var/lib/mysql
mysqld daemon ended
[1]+ Done /usr/bin/safe_mysqld
Then I try to run the client...
[root@localhost bin]# mysql
ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/lib/mysql/)
[root@localhost bin]#
I'm fairly new at this, but it looks like the server is starting and
immediately stopping. Any ideas?
