I have traced this to a libc problem. The symbol is found in libc.so.1

I am not sure why it is not being found. I guess a recent ptf on UW 7.1.1
must have broken something. This is my LD_LIBRARY_PATH

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/ccs/lib:/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql:/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.2/lib
LIBPATH=/usr/lib:/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/ccs/lib:
MANPATH=scohelp:/usr/man:/usr/local1/man:/usr/local/man:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH LIBPATH MANPATH

I am able to run mysql so I am a bit confused.

mysql status works and shows everything.

Thanks,
