I'm confused. Am I right in thinking that the Nusphere Gemini project and this announcment are linked? Is the Innobase code going to provide the transactional support for MySQL v.4? If not, whats the difference between this and Nuspheres work? My company will definitely need transactions soon, and the more information I have, the more of a case I can make for sticking with MySQL. Can someone please clarify the situation for me. I promised to report to the mailing list how the interfacing of MySQL and Innobase engine progresses. Innobase will provide transactions, rollback, row level locking, and Oracle-style non-locking consistent read to MySQL. It currently runs on Intel Linux and NT.
