I am getting this error ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySql server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) I am running redhat 7, apache, and PHP on this machine. It is preventing me from starting the sql server, however, I'm able to bypass this with safe_mysqld --skip-grant-tables Any idea how to fix this problem? Also, I'm a mySQL newbie. How does one add a database to mySQL?
