Hello! I think that one feature will be useful: limits (like UNIX limit feature) on per-thread basis. On public-access site (for instance, free hosting with mysql) poorly-written SQL can make quite a load; limiting usage can forcedly kill such requests. I could not subscribe to developers list and I don't have time (at least, right now) to dive into mysql sources; maybe someone is already working on such a feature?
