In v3.22.32, both the following SQL commands work:
mysql> SELECT MAX (record_id) FROM record;
+-----------------+
| MAX (record_id) |
+-----------------+
| 3010001 |
+-----------------+
1 row in set (0.03 sec)
mysql> SELECT MAX(record_id) FROM record;
+----------------+
| MAX(record_id) |
+----------------+
| 3010001 |
+----------------+
1 row in set (0.02 sec)
But in v3.23.32 only one works:
mysql> SELECT MAX (record_id) FROM record;
ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '(record_id) FROM
record' at line 1
mysql> SELECT MAX(record_id) FROM record;
+----------------+
| MAX(record_id) |
+----------------+
| 5040003 |
+----------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
