Hi, I have compiled mysql 3.23.36 from tarball source under debian. So I try to modify some defaults to fit to the filesystem layout, used under debian (2.2r2, potato, Kernel 2.4.1). All seemed to work fine. So I make a dump from our database and insert the dump into the new system. After this I can use the mysql-client and can make selects but I'm not be able to use mysqlshow (no database listet) neither mysqldump (I only get the server-version listed).
