It would be helpful to know how experienced of a programmer and web developer you are and how experienced you are with these programs/languages. For MySQL I like "MySQL", written by Paul DuBois. For PHP I like Professional PHP Programming published by WROX. The PHP Developer's Cookbook is pretty good as well. The style of these books suited me as I was learning PHP and MySQL and complement the online manuals for both. Spend a few hours in your local Barnes and Noble and then check the prices at www.bookpool.com (I've gotten good service at excellent prices with them). The book topic has come up on the PHP and MySQL lists many times. Check the archives at http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/ for all the opinions you'll probably ever need. And between the manuals and tutorials all over the web, you might not need any books unless you want to learn how to build web apps while reading on the beach. -- Steve Werby President, Befriend Internet Services LLC http://www.befriend.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
