I now have MySQL 4.0.2 and MySQL 4.1.3 beta both installed and running on one machine. I want to be able to use the Perl DBI / DBD to connect to both servers. I understand that there have been some changes between the MySQL 4.0.X and 4.1.X series that may require differently compiled DBD's.
So my question is, do i need to have 2 separate DBD versions, or will the newer one work for both MySQL servers. The old DBD does not work for the new server. This is demonstrated by the error message: DBI->connect(...) failed: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client at connect_test.pl line 19 All the connect_test.pl tries to do is create a db connection to each server separately. Any insight would be greatly appreciated thanks much sean peters [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MySQL General Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
