Thanks for your suggestion. I tried binary install
but the problem doesn't disappear. Though mysql no
longer consume 99% CPU, the load still go up till
the server hangs. Wonder why.
I seem to have a workaround now. My application
does lots of INSERTs, and after I change them to
INSERT DELAYED, the problem seems to disappear.
