"a" doesn't mean "alpha". It's a bugfix release for 4.1.4 - we didn't call it 4.1.5 because only source distribution is affected (some complilation issues after we upgraded libedit library, that is used for mysql command line client), all gpl binaries are linked with readline and are not affected by this problem.
