Sorry, should have specified. I am using 4.0.20, but I am under no obligation to stick with this version. (I'm developing an application and can pick whichever version I want: I started with 4.0.x because it seemed the most stable.) I'm just as interested in learning more about SQL in general as I am in solving this specific problem, and if there's a few ways to solve this problem I'd be happy to consider all of them.
