I've done denormalizations like that more than once, but only after
being absolutely sure that

1. I had _serious_ performance problems 
2. I couldn't solve them by other means
3. The cure wasn't worse than the disease

That's why I told Laszlo "Don't do it!" and implied "... unless you
know what you're doing" ;-)
