This bug is a problem with the reporting when sending a SIGHUP or the command mysqladmin debug. What I'm seeing is the process simply isn't growing in memory. I'm looking at the process size in 'top'.
I do notice that it grows once I start hitting it with queries. I'd expect it to grow as soon as I preload the index. Isn't that the point of preloading?
