I've got 3 amd64 machines running mysql. One with 32 gigs of memory and 2 with 16gigs. All of them are quad 848's. We use fedora core 2 on all of our boxes.
2 of the boxes are pushing over 3000 queries per second. And one is over 4k per second. Personally, I have about 30 mysql boxes, and I will never buy a non-64 bit machine again.
