This is really based on your OS, not MySQL. If you install MySQL on Red Hat Linux Enterprise Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP), then MySQL will use both CPUs based on instruction sets in the OS. If you install it on WinXP or Win2k3 server, they both have SMP and can support it. So the question is now turned to - What OS are you thinking of using it on?
