Hello.


You should use:

  service mysql start



instead of 'restart'. If it doesn't start, look into the error log,

which is usually located in the data directory. See:

  http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/error-log.html

  http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/starting-server.html
