That is hard to tell beforehand: Any bug fix changes the system's
behaviour, and by some bad luck your application might have made use of
the old behaviour.

Still, MySQL considers release 4.1 as "stable" and hesitates from
changes that might break current applications, even if these changes are
in general considered "positive". They are rather deferred to
development releases like 5.0 than risk problems for customers.

So I propose you upgrade to 4.1.11, taking the usual security
precautions appropriate for your data.
