Hi,
The first thing to do is turn off that anoying XP *feature* of rebooting when there is
an error - most of the time you don't need it.
I think the option is in My Computer > Properties somewhere.
Mysql may get a chance to print an error message then, or it will be displayed on
screen.
Ian, Good suggestion but the auto reboot feature is already disabled.
I found out what the problem was. The computer rebooted at 3AM. I checked the event log and good old MS auto installed updates at 3AM every day. I NEVER have this option turned on but somehow something turned it on. Good old @#$!@ MS *hit hit the windshield of life yet again. Maybe I need bigger wipers.<g>
Mike
