I believe the products you are talking about, Borland C++ v3 and Turbo C++
v3, are for DOS. DOS programs typically only support 8 character file names
with 3 character extensions. You should consider upgrading your compiler.
If you only need a C++ compiler, and not a complete development environment,
you can get the free Borland compiler here:
http://www.borland.com/bcppbuilder/freecompiler/
If you need a complete development environment consider Borland C++ Builder
6.0 or Visual Studio 2003.
