        and you have a libmysqlclient.so ?

        sometimes the lib is installed only with a libmysqlclient.so.xxx, and 
the 
packages don't install the libmysqlclient.so file, so all you have to do is 
ln -s the lib to libmysqlclient.so 

        Verify this,
