Hy I tried to set the default character set for mysql-4.1-15 server in my.cnf [client] section with set : character-sets-dir=/usr/local/mysql/share/mysql/charsets and default_character_set=latin2 but when I check the defaults by show variables like '%_server' I get these value is latin1 What is wrong?
