Hi All, forgot something in my other post: machine is running suse 9.3, 2.6.11.4-20a-smp kernel. Ok, I think I know the answer here... but just to make sure :) 4.1.14 ran with about 10 mysqld process. skip-innodb was initially turned on in the my.cnf before the attempted migration to innodb.
