Ok, I logged on to the GUI Administrator as: root localhost /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
from my linux user account. Tad confusing, as to which "root" is being referred to. If I, for instance, restart they system I'll need to manually restart the database? Or, if for some other reason the database is "stopped" it must be restarted? Hmm. And there are different levels of users for the database, apparently. Bit of adjustment required!
