This is a known bug when running MySQL on Darwin / Mac OS X right now.  
Last I heard some listy was submitting a diff or a patch to the 
maintainers, but I haven't heard anything about it for a little while.  
Any news, folks?  Works a treat on Darwin, otherwise.
