From the Handbook Postgresql 8.1 there are
PREPARE TRANSACTION transaction_id
COMMIT PREPARED transaction_id
ROLLBACK PREPARED transaction_id

and it states PREPARE TRANSACTION -- prepare the current transaction for two-phase commit
