4. Keynotes: Listen to visionaries, technologists and influentials
The keynotes presentations are given Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in
the morning for the entire conference audience. I think we have quite an
exciting group of visionaries, technologists and influentials on

Tuesday we start with our CEO Mårten Mickos, on "Welcome and State of
MySQL AB". He is followed by none less than Guy Kawasaki on "The Art of
Innovation". After Guy, Red Hat CTO Brian Stevens talks about "Building
the Ultimate Database Container with RHEL, MySQL, and Virtualization".
Wednesday's first keynote is by Eben Moglen, the Director of the
Software Freedom Law Center. At this stage of the GPLv3 debate, "Freedom
Businesses Protect Privacy" is very topical. Eben is followed by "The
Clash of the Database Egos", where I will try to herd a bunch of egoes
in a discussion about database technology, principles and future. We
start with MySQL's own guys (Monty Widenius, Jim Starkey, Mikael
Ronström) and bring in some partner egoes, at least from Solid and Nitro
Security. Wednesday's keynotes is concluded by Bdale Garbee, the Linux
CTO of Hewlett Packard, on "Citizenship: Open Source Community Rewards
and Responsibilities".
Thursday starts with "PHP on Hormones" by Rasmus Lerdorf of Yahoo!. We
continue with another technical keynote on "Scaling MySQL at YouTube",
with YouTube's MySQL DBA Paul Tuckfield. Thursday morning is concluded
by Chander Kant, CEO of Zmanda, on "Data Protection for the LAMP Economy".
