Vladimir, I have tried to recompile MySQL 5.1.21 as you suggested, but unfortunately I got the same error.
Is it possible that some other define needs to be set ? Thanks in advance for your help, Mariella ./configure CC=gcc CFLAGS="-DBIG_JOINS=1 -DHAVE_DLOPEN -O2" CXX=g++ CXXFLAGS="-DBIG_JOINS=1 -DHAVE_DLOPEN -felide-constructors -fno-rtti -O2"
