Hello, I am new to both MySQL and JDBC. I installed a MySQL binary on a Linux machine, and I want to access the database as a server over a network. I have had a hard time finding documentation on how to set this up. How do I decide which port the server runs on, and do I need some kind of extra transaction server running also?
