I am trying to get a (third party) client application working which needs to be linked with "libmysqlclient". The application is implemented as a shared library. I can't get this working: I have installed MySQL from the Solaris binary release, which has a "libmysqlclient.a", but I do see mention of a "libmysqlclient.so" in the MYSQL documentation.
