Hello *,

I am owner and maintainer of some very huge (several TBytes) PostgreSQL
databases since nearly 10 years and now I have to use for a customer
MySQL since his Closed Source Application disallow the use of any other
SQL databases even it use no special functions...

However, I have to code some stuff and setup a bunch of SQL schemes and
unfortunately the PostgreSQL stuff does work on nearly all databases but
not on MySQL 5... :-/

Can someone recommend me a recent book (in english) available in Germany
for using/programming MySQL 5 please?

And of course in PostgreSQL I use TableSpace and TablePartitioning since
it is nearly impossibel to use a table of 1 TByte size (only text and
numerical data; ~60 columns and ~2 million rows).

How do you handel such amount of Data under MySQL?

Is there something like tsearch2 available under MySQL?

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
