Dave, Log in as the user you intend to set up for them. Issue the following:
show grants; select @@sql_mode; If you aren't sure how to interpret the information I will direct you to the manual: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/ Side note: I would upgrade. 5.0.45 has some pretty serious bugs. I'd upgrade to the latest 5.0 release.
