I'm looking to optimize the myisamchk settings for some table rebuilds I need to do.
I'm running CentOS 5 and MySQL 5.1 in a VMWare VM with 4 vCPUs and 4GB of memory. All the examples I can find online look like they are several years old, and just copied from someone else's config. I think with 4GB of memory, the settings can be better than this example: [myisamchk] key_buffer = 256M sort_buffer_size = 256M read_buffer = 2M write_buffer = 2M Any suggestions?
