Global world-wide announcement: H2 Database (java) is coming down... your path ....
All the database developers jump into H2 database ... Great databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, FireBird are getting better everyday... But take a look at the upcoming H2 which is written completely in Java language. Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL are written in "C" and "C" runs very fast. But Java is a modern language (and it is GNU/GPL license and hence is a safe bet). Java is better than "C" but it's speed is improving every year.... and may come closer to "C" performance. Java is used in about 90% of the new projects world-wide and database like H2 is very important for every project. H2 supports MVCC just like postgresql. And MySQL supports MVCC thru innodb. H2 is at http://www.h2database.com/html/main.html H2 license is Mozilla Public License or Eclipse Public License and in future gpl will also be added. You pick your license on H2!!
