This edition of MySQL is less like NoSQL, and more determinedly relational, than any before.
It'd be more accurate to say that Monty & David anticipated NoSQL by a decade. The early editions of MySQL, with no ACID compliance, no foreign keys, no transactions, were more like NoSQL than any version of MySQL released since 2004.
