Hi Mike,
   We started with Fbsd 4.1 which seemed to run OK with MySQL,  do NOT
use 4.2 as it has threads bugs,  but I would really recommend 4.3 has
it has the bugs worked out,  a great port of mysql (in
/usr/ports/databases) and is faster.
