what does this mean and how can i fix it?

p.s. in this case i believe drop refers to adding or creating... if
that is possible... because i am trying to add this db with a script.
actually i'm on OS X and have purchased Jay Greenspan's MySQL/PHP
Applications book w/CD -i've been trying for month to get them
working. once i did get them installed but the functions didn't want
to work... i can't even get back there!
is there ANYONE who would like to help me get through a working
install of just one of the dbs on this CD.
i have contacted Jay and he says this should NO PROBLEM on OS X, that
in fact they were tested on it.
