Hi! MySQL/InnoDB-3.23.40 was released on Saturday. For InnoDB it is a very minor release, only a couple of rare bugs have been fixed and the my.cnf parameter name innodb_unix_file_flush_method has been shortened to innodb_flush_method Version 3.23.40 does not yet contain the support for < 4 GB BLOBs which was introduced in the source release 3.23.39b available at the InnoDB website www.innodb.com (when the site host gets the web server up again, see my earlier post). Big BLOBs need more testing, and will appear in MySQL/InnoDB-3.23.41. The next important source release of InnoDB is 3.23.40b which is scheduled for July 31st. It should contain both big BLOBs and the doublewrite technique, which will solve the performance problems in file flush.
