I downloaded the MySQL-client and MySQL-devel rpms but get the following errors (I was able to install MySQL from a tarball): [root@localhost svu]# rpm -U *.rpm error: MySQL-client-3.23.40-1.i386.rpm cannot be installed error: MySQL-devel-3.23.40-1.i386.rpm cannot be installed [root@localhost svu]# rpm -V *.rpm error: cannot get shared lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1) error: cannot get shared lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages Any ideas on what the shared lock message means. Permission issues?
