Good Morning.
I recently installed mysql-3.23.41-pc-linux-gnu-i686.tar.gz onto RH Linux
7.1 via MySQL Manual instructions for "Installing a MySQL Binary
Distribution". I can start the server via safe_mysqld with no apparent
problems.
Question #1:
My Linux/MySQL newbie question...Do you need to run ./configure for a
binary installation?
Question #2:
Can you setup RH Linux 7.1 to automatically start/stop the MySQL (binary
installation) server via xinetd and services? If so, how?
