when installing with rpm i get:

mysqld process hanging, pid 30887 - killed
mysqld process hanging, pid 30886 - killed
010917 16:04:06 mysqld restarted
/usr/bin/safe_mysqld: line 273: 30916 Segmentation fault
$NOHUP_NICENESS $ledir/$MYSQLD
$defaults --basedir=$MY_BASEDIR_VERSION --datadir=$DATADIR
$USER_OPTION --pid-file=$pid_file --skip-locking >>$err_log 2>&1
and it just keeps going and going and going...
any ideas?
