Hi. Have a look at your my.cnf (and the according manual entries). There you can specify how much memory MySQL is allowed to use.
MySQL doesn't release memory it's allowed to use for caching. Bye, Benjamin. PS: There is nothing such as "linux 7.1". Linux (the kernel) exists in versions up to 2.4.
