When I try to connect a client to MySQL server on RH Linux 7.0 box I get this message window "Host 'name.name.net' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server" I am new to the software and I could really use the help. The MySQL client is running on a Windows 2000 box. I have put the my.cnf file in /etc and /var/lib/mysql "the default location for the data" and tried different configurations and some will let me connect but they will not let me look at tables or create new ones.
