The MySQL privilege system is generally not useful as a substitute for application-level user handling, just as the system's user handling (/etc/passwd etc.) would not be useful for MySQL. I can see how it might be useful to have a few different mysql users that one application switches between based on what application-level user is using the application, but that's about it. //C - expressing his $0.02 worth of thoughts. -- Carl Troein - Círdan / Istari-PixelMagic - UIN 16353280 [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://pixelmagic.dyndns.org/~cirdan/ Amiga user since '89, and damned proud of it too. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
